Oblivion

First off, I just want to say how disappointed I am that no one commented on my Top Fifty Players in the NFL. I thought it was really good. Even if you don't care about football or didn't even read it, it would be nice to give a comment or two just so I know that someone saw it.

Right now I am working on a Detroit Lions Season Preview and it's almost finished. To hold you over until it's posted, here is an original poem by myself, titled Oblivion. This poem was published in the Cornerstone newspaper my junior year.

Oblivion

There is an itch inside my nose
is it a booger; a hair; who knows?
I probably should go give it a blow
but, picking my nose is a much better show
Especially for those who do not know
how much I want my nostril to grow

Every time I stick my finger in it
It stetches out, every time I pick it
I chase it around; I try to trick it
Finally I get it on my finger and then I lick it
look at it for a bit, then I flick it
I see it on the ground, then I kick it
into oblivion.

  1. Your list had two things going for it that prevented me from writing a comment: A) it was long and b) it was a list. My apologies...

Your poem makes me smile, because just the other day I told Jess about the time I found a treasure trove of your poems at Dicks.
