A Few Final Predictions

These may be on the slightly crazy side, but here are my last random predictions for the NFL season ...

1 - Pittsburgh starts the season 4-0 with Dennis Dixon ... then goes 5-7 with Big Ben for a 9-7 finish.

2 - Lovie Smith is fired after the Bears start the season 1-4.

3 - Steve Smith of the Giants has TWICE as many receptions this year as Steve Smith from the Panthers. (108, 54)

4 - Buffalo will go 0-16. I originally predicted 1-15 in May ... but look at the schedule. In weeks 15, 16, and 17 they'll be playing against teams with playoff hopes who won't be resting their starters.

5 - San Francisco, on the other hand, starts the season 10-1 and clinches the NFC West by week 12.

6 - Last but not least, Aaron Rodgers will throw DOUBLE the touchdowns as his former mentor, Brett Favre. (42, 21). Favre was not remotely impressive last night, and it's going to be a long year for him. Especially if LT Bryant McKinnie misses some games.

That's it. Go Lions.
